HARRISBURG, Pa. —
A labor union says state Pennsylvania Lottery employees will be able to beat the 20-year profit guarantee offered by a British firm that is seeking a contract to manage the $3.5 billion system.
AFSCME Council 13 said Tuesday it can achieve the higher profits if given the chance to introduce keno, online games, subscription services and loyalty programs.
The union says the guarantees by Camelot Global Services would be largely achieved by expanding the lottery's portfolio.
Gov. Tom Corbett has through Thursday to decide whether to hire Camelot before the company's bid expires. The state is also waiting for a risk mitigation consultant's report about whether Camelot is a suitable manager.
Camelot has a $34 billion offer on the table.
