Victim's Family Fights For Money Hidden In Home

The family of a woman killed in Cambria County is fighting to get money they said she had hidden in the home.

The family of Anna Phillips asked a judge to release tens of thousands of dollars the family believes the suspect, Fred Phillips Jr., stole from his adoptive mother at the time of her death.

Robert Hunt Jr., Anna Phillips’ other son, told a judge his mother didn’t believe in banks and feared more money was taken from the home.

At the time of Phillips’ arrest, he was carrying more than $15,000 in cash.

The district attorney asked the judge not to release the money until Phillips is tried in connection with the slaying.
