A soldier from Virginia has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, police said.
Sgt. 1st Class Stephen Bassett is charged with harassment and aggravated indecent assault.
Officials said the incident happened two weeks ago. The woman reported Bassett followed her into her room. She said when she refused to kiss him, he attacked her.
Police said they found some of the woman’s belongings in Bassett’s room.
