Warm Temperatures Spoil Successful Hunts

Warm weather can spoil deer hunting season because meat goes bad faster.

Area butchers say hunters have just two hours to get their deer processed before the meat spoils and hunters across the Alleghenies rush to meat processing facilities.

Some butchers encourage hunters not to tie deer legs together after they field-dress them. They say it's important to keep parts of the deer exposed.

Butchers also encourage hunters to carry coolers filled with ice to keep deer meat fresh.
