Winterize your car

By Kerri Corrado

Johnstown, PA —

If you have to drive on the roads this holiday season, take caution!

Snow removal crews are ready to plow the roads, but black ice can still form on the streets.

Taking precautions before the snowfall hits, can reduce any type of problems before travel. The National Disaster Coalition says first, check your engine light, make sure you have gas, and make sure your tires have air.

One these steps are taken, stack your car with food, electronics, and clothes. This will assure you comfort until help arrives.

If you do get stuck, use cat litter or your car mats under your tires. This will add friction and set you free.

All of these tips will assure safe travel and prepare you for the upcoming snowfall.
