Woman Escapes Burning Mobile Home; Family Pets Killed

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Firefighters in Clearfield County said a mobile home was gutted by fire Tuesday morning.

Officials said a woman was asleep when the blaze broke out in the mobile home on Church Street near Morrisdale shortly before 10 a.m.

Ronald Seprish told WJAC-TV that his relatives lost their home to a nearby fire several months earlier.

“It’s hard on my mom and them. I’ll help her get through it and stuff,” said Seprish. “It was all flames and stuff. She got my sister out. She works third-shift and she was sleeping."

Authorities said that most of the items inside the mobile home were destroyed and that a cat and pet snake were killed in the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting three people who were displaced by the blaze; a state police fire marshal is investigating.
