Workers Vote To Strike

Workers at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College vote "overwhelmingly" Thursday night to strike. Union Mediator Jeff Scafaro tells Channel 6 News -- it's union policy not to disclose the numbers -- but adds it was "a difficult decision made by employees."

Members of the union say talks broke down Thursday morning over issues like more staffing - better health insurance - pension benefits - and mandatory overtime. Workers had until 8 PM to vote - on whether to strike Friday.

Scafaro adds the strike will begin Friday morning at 7 and will last 5 days. He says workers will go back to work at Mount Nittany -- Wednesday -- July 14th.
