Yard sale spans 100 miles

By Rich Wisniewski

CLEARFIELD CO, Pa. —

Annual Yard Sale Spans 100 Miles

On a gray Saturday, hundreds of yard salers wandered through the 100 Mile Yard Sale in Clearfield County.

"It's like that old saying goes, one mans trash is another man's treasure," said one shopper.

Many shoppers were looking for that retail treasure this weekend. The 100 mile yard sale is the largest in Pennsylvania, and according to shoppers, if your not a shopaholic when you get here, you might be when you leave

"The first year we came I brought a car, the second year I had to bring my truck and last year I had to bring my truck and trailer," said another shopper.

Don't think that this yard sale was all just old picture framers and dishes, there were many big toys like snowmobiles, and riding lawnmowers.

"Anything from soup, to trailers, to boats," said another shopper.

Even though organizers anticipated a big turnout this year, a lot of vendors said they didn't have as many customers as they thought. They believe the weather had a lot to do with the lack of people. However, the shoppers who were here, said they will be coming back next year.
