Your Smartphone Could Save You Money While Shopping

The holiday shopping season kicked off friday but do you need some advice on how to get good deals. As tim tender reports..a helpful tool maybe just a click away on your cell phone.

A lot of shopping is getting out to the store but more and more, people are relying on the internet and technology to get their shopping done.

Here are a few cell phone apps to help you get you through this year's holiday shopping.

First, there's any barcode scanner app, like Shopsavvy. You just scan the barcode and it gives you the best deal in your area.

While that's probably the most popular app for shopping, there are others that'll help you out.

There's actually a percent discount app that'll tell you how much your item will cost after a discount. All you have to do is type in what percentage the discount is and it'll give you the final price.

If you already know where you're going, there are a lot of stores that have their own apps. We found Target and Autozone without any issue.

Last but not least is foursquare. If you don't remember, we did a story last year on this app that has you check in to places. By checking in at participating locations, you can save some money. Some local stores that offer specials include American Eagle, Radio Shack, and Rotelli in State College.
