Bucs Bounce Back Against Mets

(Pittsburgh-AP) -- Jeff Suppan is 3-and-0 after allowing one earned run and four hits over six innings of Pittsburgh's 6-to-3 win over the New York Mets. Kevin Young came off the bench to deliver the tiebreaking single in the sixth. The Pirates broke it open in the eighth when Adam Hyzdu hit a two-run double and scored on Pokey Reese's double.

Aramis Ramirez homered in the first inning, ending the Pirates' streak of 43 innings without a round-tripper. Mets catcher Mike Piazza finally collected his first R-B-I of the season with a homer, but New York fell for the seventh time in

eight games. David Cone dipped to 1-and-1, giving up three runs and six hits

in five innings.
