Burnett Tosses Gem In Curve Win

Related

(Altoona-AP) -- Sean Burnett tossed a two-hitter for the lowest-hit nine-inning shutout in franchise history as the Altoona Curve beat the Trenton Thunder, 3-and-0. Burnett -- the Pittsburgh Pirates' number one draft pick in 2000 -- struck out three, didn't walk a batter and faced just two over the minimum in his first-career shutout.

Burnett's effort helped Altoona tie a franchise record with its sixth straight victory, while Trenton lost its seventh in a row. Kevin Nicholson doubled home the first run of the game off Trenton starter Eddy Lantigua in the third. Joe Caruso later added a two-run single for some insurance in the sixth.
