Local athletes top weekly AMCC baseball awards

Mount's Godissart, Altoona's Heine win players of the week

Mount Aloysius senior Mike Godissart and Penn State Altoona first baseman Cord Heine have been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference pitcher and player of the week, respectively.

Godissart, a right handed pitcher from Chestnut Ridge High School, won his second consecutive pitcher of the week award, threw a complete game victory Saturday over Medaille. In his two appearances this week, Godissart struck out 12, recording just one walk in 8 innings pitched.

Heine has been tearing the cover off the ball for Penn State Altoona. In four games last week, Heine batted 9-15 (.600), with four doubles, a triple, 7 RBI, and 7 runs. He is currently ranked third in the AMCC with a .406 batting average.
