(Erie-AP) -- Chris Heintz homered to back up eight shutout innings by Landon Jacobsen as the Altoona Curve beat the Erie SeaWolves 3-2 Thursday night. Jacobsen (7-6) held Erie scoreless until the ninth inning before allowing solo homers to Leo Daigle and Matt Walker. Todd Ozias got the final out for his 15th save.

Altoona built a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings against Erie starter Kenny Baugh (2-7). Chan Perry's two-out double in the first scored Jose Castillo. An inning later, Josh Bonifay drew a leadoff walk, went to second on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. Heintz added his second homer in the seventh against Erie reliever Mark Johnson.
