READING, Pa. (AP) - Ray Navarrete hit a pinch-hit RBI single in

the top of the 12th inning to lead the Altoona Curve to a 5-4 win

over the Reading Phillies on Thursday night in the Eastern League.

The Curve trailed 4-1 after seven innings but rallied for a run

in the eighth and two in the ninth to tie it.

John Grabow (6-1) pitched four scoreless innings to get the win

and Todd Ozias pitched the 12th for his 12th save.

Jeff Inglin hit two home runs in the first three innings, his

11th and 12th, to help Reading to the early lead. Garry Maddox II

also hit a solo home run, his sixth, to give Reading a 4-1 lead in

the fifth.

Altoona's only hit and run off Reading starter Willie Glen came

on Brett Roneberg's fourth home run in the second inning. Glen

struck out five and walked two in six innings. But the bullpen

failed to hold the lead.

Chris Duffy stole home on the back end of a double steal in the

eighth to make it 4-2. Altoona tied it in the ninth off Reading

bullpen ace Frank Brooks on a solo home run by Jose Castillo, his

fourth, and an RBI double by Shaun Skrehot.

In the 12th, Duffy led off with a double off Brad Guy (1-7) and

scored on Navarrete's hit.
