Glavine, Mets Beat Bucs

(Pittsburgh-AP) -- The New York Mets' six-game losing streak is over after Tom Glavine pitched into the seventh inning of a 3-to-1 victory at Pittsburgh.

Glavine is 2-and-1 after holding the Pirates to a run and three hits over six and a-third. He blanked the Bucs after pitcher Josh Fogg delivered an R-B-I single in the second.

Armando Benitez put two runners on in the ninth before finally nailing down his fourth save. He blew three saves in the Mets' previous eight games. Jeromy Burnitz went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in the fifth. Cliff Floyd added an insurance run with a sixth-inning double. Fogg dropped to 1-and-2, yielding two earned runs and six hits in seven innings.
