Three area girls earn All-State basketball honors

Three girls basketball players from the WJAC-TV coverage area have been voted onto the Pennsylvania All-State team by state sportswriters.

Homer-Center senior guard Katelyn Skinner was the only area player to earn a spot on a first team. She joins the Class A First Team after averaging 22 points per game for the Lady Wildcats this season. She will play basketball at the University of Hartford.

Altoona's Kayla Grimme earned a spot on the Class AAAA Third Team while Bishop Guilfoyle junior Kayla Bates made the Class A First Team. Grimme, a 6'1" junior, averaged 10.5 points per game this season. Bates scored 12.7 points per game for the Lady Marauders.
