Nick Roberts and John Rizzo are not ending their illustrious high school wrestling careers atop the medal stand in Hershey.

Instead, the three-time Pennsylvania state champions were invited to participate in the elite Dapper Dan Classic.

The Dapper Dan pits the top wrestlers in Pennsylvania against the best from around the rest of the country. It is held Sunday, March 25 at the University of Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

Roberts, a senior from North Star High School, will wrestle at 120 pounds, while Rizzo, the Richland senior, will wrestle at 220 pounds.

Rizzo is the first wrestler from the Greater Johnstown region to be invited to the Dapper Dan Classic since 1984, when Johnstown's Carlton Haselrig participated. Roberts is the third from Somerset County to wrestle in the event.

Roberts will wrestle at Ohio State University in the Fall. Rizzo is undecided on his college choice, but is believed to have some of the top wrestling schools in the country courting him.

Other District 6 wrestlers set to participate in the 2012 Dapper Dan include Juniata High School's state champion Zach Beitz, and Central Mountain's Brian Brill.
