Westmont Hilltop's Madeleine Lovette fired a second consecutive 76 at Springwood Golf Club in York to win the PIAA Girls Golf Championship Tuesday.
Lovette, a junior, finished with a 152, two shots better than Connellsville's Jordan Craig and first round leader Katie Trotter of Upper St. Clair. Westmont coach Joe Shorto says Lovette, who placed fourth last year, is believed to be the first District 6 golfer to win the state championship.
