COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —

Four former Penn State women's volleyball players, all from their run of national championship teams between 2007-2010, earned spots on the United States volleyball team heading to the Olympics.

Former National Player of the Year, outside hitter Megan Hodge, a 2010 graduate, and 2009 grad Christa Harmotto, a middle blocker, both earned one of 12 spots on the U.S. Olympic team, while former Penn State teammates Nicole Fawcett and Alisha Glass will go to London as replacement players for Team USA.

"I'm thrilled and feel so blessed to be chosen," said Harmotto. "This journey has been incredible and everyone who has been through this program has made an impact on this team. It's been a dream of mine for years and I feel so honored to represent the red, white and blue."

The U.S. Women's National Volleyball team is ranked No. 1 in the world by the International Volleyball Federation.

The Summer Olympics in London begin Friday, July 27, and Team USA will face South Korea in their first match of the Games on Saturday, July 28.
