PIAA Track & Field Results - Saturday Medalists

SHIPPENSBURG —

Over 40 athletes from the WJAC coverage region earned medals Saturday at the PIAA Track & Field Championships. Included were four local gold medalists; Luke Gallaher of Forest Hills repeated in the Boys AA High Jump, as did Homer-Center's Angel Piccirillo in the Girls AA 1600M and Elk County Catholic's Megan Dornish in the Girls AA Shot Put. Brookville's Lanae Newsome also won gold in the Girls AA Triple Jump.

The State College girls team won the Girls AAA team title, led by Chloe Schmidt who took 2nd place in the 800M and 1600M runs. The Lady Little Lions also won a gold medal Friday thanks to Lauren Kenney in the Girls AAA Javelin, as well as medals Saturday in the Girls AAA Triple Jump (Shannon Daniels), 4x100 meter relay, and 4x400 meter relays.

Elk County Catholic took third place in the Girls AA team standings, and Brookville's girls finished fourth.
