Pirates' Ramirez Injures Ankle

(Pittsburgh-AP) -- Pirates third baseman Aramis Ramirez bruised his left ankle while fouling off a pitch and will likely miss at least one game.

Ramirez, who was lifted in the sixth inning of tonight's game against Milwaukee, reported considerable swelling in the ankle, although X-rays were negative.

Given the nature of the injury, it seemed unlikely Ramirez would be ready to play tomorrow against Milwaukee. The Pirates remain in Pittsburgh to play the Astros on Monday and Tuesday.

Despite a slow start this season, Ramirez is the Pirates' top run producer with 65 R-B-Is. He is hitting .280 with 11 homers and is on pace for his second one hundred-R-B-I season in three years.
