Port Allegany's Bodamer nears state TD record

By Matt Maisel

COUDERSPORT, Pa. —

Port Allegany senior quarterback Matt Bodamer moved into second place on the Pennsylvania all-time touchdown list on Friday. Bodamer threw 7 touchdowns in a 70-8 romp of Coudersport, giving him 107 for his career.

The Pennsylvania record is 118 by Lancaster Catholic's Kyle Smith in 2009.

Bodamer threw for 410 yards along with his 7 touchdowns as the Gators improved to 4-0. With his final touchdown pass of the night, he moved past Allentown Central Catholic's Brendan Nosovitch for sole posession of second place on the state's all-time list.

In four games this season, Bodamer already has 22 touchdown passes. He is well on-pace to shatter the Pennsylvania single-season touchdown record of 50, set by Lancaster Catholic's Smith in 2009. Bodamer holds the District 9 record of 49, set in 2011.

Bodamer has thrown for 8,261 passing yards for his career, moving past Pat Devlin for fourth all-time in Pennsylvania. He is the sixth person in state history to throw for over 8,000 yards. Brockway's Derek Buganza holds the state record of 9,752 passing yards, set in 2010.
