Sanders Homers Twice In Same Inning

(St. Louis-AP) -- Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Reggie Sanders has homered twice in a ten-run fifth against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jason Kendall and Brian Giles homered in succession during a span of three pitches from Garrett Stephenson to start the inning. Sanders homered on the second pitch from rookie Jason Pearson, the Pirates' third consecutive round-tripper.

Sanders capped the rally with a blast off Esteban Yan.

Sanders has seven homers in his last eight games and 29 this season. It's the first time this year a major league player has hit two homers in the same inning.
