Suspension Handed Out For Baseball Brawl

(Pittsburgh-AP) -- Most players are angry and upset when they're involved in an on-field fight, as Pirates catcher Jason Kendall was after a bench-clearing brawl at Tampa Bay last weekend.

Pirates pitcher Julian Tavarez is an exception.

Not only did he expect to be suspended, he says he doesn't plan to appeal a three-day suspension for his role in the fight. Kendall, who argued he shouldn't be suspended, immediately appealed his three-day suspension and will keep playing until the appeal is heard.

The fight began after Anderson was hit with a pitch, then, as he jawed with Kendall, he appeared to knock Kendall's mask off his face.
