Weather conditions force cancellation of April 27 racing at Motordrome

SMITHTON, PA (April 27, 2007) - With an unfavorable forecast predicting showers throughout the region, the management of Motordrome Speedway has cancelled racing action for tonight, April 27, 2007. This decision was made early in an attempt to save race teams the labor and transportation costs of making a trip to Smithton, PA to battle the elements of nature.

The high cost of fuel has raised the expenses for race teams to a new level. Race car haulers come from PA, WV, OH, and NY every week to race at Motordrome, and if it rains, they go back home without a paycheck. By making these decisions EARLY on Fridays, Miley Motorsports can spare these race teams the expense of traveling, and save our devoted fans a trip to the speedway.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action will resume next Friday, May 4, at 7:30pm, with a complete program of heat and feature events for the Napa NASCAR Super Late Models, Lincoln Welders Modifieds, Subway Street Stocks, Yellow Book Chargers, and American Flyers.
