In Blair County, crews were readying their equipment and supplies. In Altoona, plow trucks and salt spreaders at the maintenance yard were lined up and ready to go.
But, officials said they're not overly concerned about the next storm compared to the extreme weather earlier this month.
PennDOT officials said they're not pre-treating the roads. They said they're not downplaying the storm, but there is already enough salt on the roads.
They said any time there's now in the forecast, road conditions are a concern, but PennDOT officials said with this storm high winds pose the biggest threat.
"(The predictions are) blizzard-like conditions at this point, so there's always going to be the potential for whiteout conditions," said Tara Callahan-Henry, community relations coordinator.
Because of that potential hazard, PennDOT is asking drivers to stay off the roads during the storm.
