Fast-Moving Snow Squalls Cause Icy Roads

Related

Fast-moving snow squalls across the Alleghenies made Monday morning a challenge for some drivers.

The snow, coupled with blustery wind gusts, hit most areas across the Alleghenies. The squalls quickly coated streets and sidewalks in Happy Valley. Several drivers also reported icy conditions near Philipsburg earlier Monday.

In Cambria County, Richland Township police responded to a crash on Eisenhower Boulevard near the intersection with Old Walsal Road. Officials said no one was seriously hurt but a car was towed from the scene.

In the Moxham neighborhood of Johnstown, roads were still snow covered as of noon but Camtran buses were running.

Severe Weather Team 6 said snow is expected to accumulate another 2 to 5 inches Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning in the Laurels and Northern Alleghenies.
