In Ansonville, there was only about 1 foot of water left in the reservoir Wednesday. There, officials asked residents to conserve as much water as possible by taking shorter showers and cutting down on washing clothes.

Officials said rainfall over the night and into Thursday morning will go a long way in bringing levels at the reservoirs back to normal.

The Houtzdale Water Authority agreed to supply Ansonville with water as long as they need it. County officials said they can also provide trailers of water -- or water buffalos -- for communities in need.
