Steady Rains Prompt Flood Watches, Warnings

Related

Rain fell steadily throughout the Alleghenies on Thursday, with some areas receiving heavier downpours than others. In response, flood watches and warnings are in effect for parts of the region.

Emergency management officials said their main concern is that heavy rains could push small streams over their banks.

In Centre County, crews were closely watching the Bald Eagle Creek in Milesburg. Officials said, as of noon, there were no reports of flooding but a flood warning was in effect for most of the county.

Families in Huntingdon County are keeping a close eye on swollen streams in Shirleysburg, Orbsonia and Rock Hill Furnace.
