Chargers Sign A Pair Of Veterans

Monday, September 1, 2008

(Sports Network) - The San Diego Chargers signed tight end Kris Wilson and offensive guard Kynan Forney Monday.

Wilson was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2004 draft and caught 42 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns over his four years in Kansas City. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent this offseason but was released Saturday.

Meanwhile, Forney is an eight-year veteran who has played in 95 games and started 88 during his career, all with the Atlanta Falcons.

To make room for both players on the roster, the Chargers released fullback Andrew Pinnock and placed veteran center Cory Withrow on season-ending injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
