Report: Niners CB Harris Might Miss Season

Posted: 4:46 pm EDT May 20, 2009

(Sports Network) - San Francisco 49ers cornerback Walt Harris reportedly might miss the 2009 season after tearing a ligament in his right knee in practice on Tuesday.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Harris, 34, was injured during Tuesday's practice in a collision with receiver Dominique Ziegler. Harris was at the team's training facility on Wednesday with an ice bag on his knee.

The paper is reporting that Harris will need surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament, which is at least partially torn.

A 13-year veteran, Harris, has 763 tackles and 35 interceptions, four returned for touchdowns, over his career. He has also played for Chicago, Indianapolis and Washington and has been in San Francisco since the 2006 season.
