Cambria County Controller Will Not Run For State Representative

Cambria County controller Ed Cernic Jr. said on Friday he will not run for state representative.Since Rep. Tom Yewcic announced his retirement, the pressure has been on Cernic to run for state representative. On Friday, Cernic held a news conference to announce he was not running.

Cernic said he would like to run under different circumstances. He was recently elected as county controller and said he doesn't want to let the public down by jumping ship so soon.Cernic also expressed concern that the Pennsylvania primary in April could be a virtual afterthought in the wake of the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.
