WESTLAKE, Ohio -- It may be hard to believe, but bathing-suit season is approaching. Is your body as ready as you'd like it to be?
If not, the GX-99 vibratory endermatic system is a high-tech way to help you get rid of cellulite.
Each step takes only a couple of minutes and the whole process is relaxing for the patient.
The first step is a tool that kneads muscles. This helps to eliminate the toxins from the body. Kneading cream offers a deeper massage.
"You may experience some burning or tingling," said Nikki, of the Ohio Clinic Skin Care and Day Spa in Westlake. "This is perfectly normal."
A tool then pulls at the skin and also glides across it. It's the final step to smoother, cellulite-free skin.
The process is repeated on both sides of body.
Poor circulation, an unhealthy diet, nicotine, caffeine, fried foods, lack of exercise, and not drinking enough water all contribute to cellulite, according to experts.
"It has nothing to with your weight," Nikki said. "You can be 90 pounds and still have cellulite. It's just the way our bodies are made, unfortunately."
The procedure may not get rid of cellulite completely, but it does reduce the appearance and helps promote better circulation. The machine doesn't do it by itself; patients have to do a lot, too.
"To keep up the results, you also need to have a maintenance visit with us every three to four weeks," Nikki said. "You need to drink a lot of water, (and) you need to live healthier. (A) more balanced diet and exercise will help this last."
Those who keep up with it should stay cellulite-free.
Nicole is keeping a positive attitude for a quickly approaching spring.
She thinks her body isn't ready, so she's trying the system for the second time."I had it done all over," she said. "My pants were loose that day. They felt a little bit different. (It takes) discipline. You have to stay away from the bad things, so you have to drink the water, do the treatments, (and) exercise. You can't go home and eat a bag of potato chips afterward."
The cellulite reduction procedure costs $55 a session, and packages are available.
