Memphis Grizzlies (13-38) At New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (23-27), 8 P.m.
(Sports Network) - The Memphis Grizzlies will aim for their second straight win tonight when they take on the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets at the Ford Center. Memphis ended a four-game losing streak with Friday's 105-97 overtime victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves at FedExForum. Rudy Gay scored 19 points to lead six players in double figures for the Grizzlies. Mike Miller posted 17 points and seven assists for Memphis, while Chucky Atkins scored 15 points in the triumph. Pau Gasol, who is the subject of trade rumors, contributed 10 points and a season-high tying 17 rebounds. The Grizzlies are last in the Southwest standings and just 3-21 on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Hornets have won two straight and seven of nine, including Thursday's 109-101 double-overtime victory versus the Milwaukee Bucks at the Ford Center. Desmond Mason poured in 24 points and David West scored 21 and pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds to lead the way. Chris Paul added 14 points and dished out 10 assists, while Devin Brown and Bobby Jackson each netted 12 points for the Hornets, who won their second straight overtime game. On Wednesday night, Mason's last second tip-in lifted New Orleans over Denver, 114-112. The Hornets are just ahead of Memphis in the division, and own a 15-11 record as the host this season. New Orleans/Oklahoma City defeated Memphis, 100-97, in overtime on December 22 this season and has won four straight and five of the last six meetings. Memphis has dropped three in a row at the Hornets.
