Tiger Woods Prepares For Birth Of Child, PGA Tournament

Tiger Woods is eyeing a busy summer.

The U.S. golfer has committed to playing in the U.S. Open, awaiting the arrival of his first child, and hosting a PGA event.

The inaugural AT&T National will be held July 3-8 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. Falling over the Fourth of July, Woods is incorporating the military into the tournament's events.

To acknowledge the sacrifices the men and women are making, Woods said 30,000 active-duty service members and guests will be able to attend the tournament. They will also have their own VIP entrance and seating gallery.

"I grew up in that household," said Woods, whose late father, Earl, was a Vietnam veteran. "I have friends who are in the military as well, so I know the level of commitment that it takes for them and the things that they do."

The tournament field will feature Jim Furyk, Adam Scott, Davis Love III and Darren Clarke. Woods is also planning on playing, as long as he isn't needed in the delivery room. His wife, Elin, is expected to give birth to the couple's first child around the date of the event.
