Back Court Brothers: Somerset's Heiple & Barnes Combine for 55 pts

By Pat Welter

Playing basketball together since the age of 6 essentially makes Dylan Barnes and Jake Heiple back court brothers.

The Somerset sophomores put up a combined 55 points in route to a 69-62 win over Huntingdon giving the school its first ever District 6 AAA championship on saturday, but it was the way they did it that made it special.

At the end of the third quarter Jake Heiple picked up his 4th foul.  Down one point to Huntingdon Heiple sat the first four minutes of the 4th.  It seemed like the perfect opportunity for Huntingdon to pull away.  But Dylan Barnes had Heiple's back.

For those four minutes Barnes took over and when Heiple returned to the game, there was no turning back.
