Berlin, Tussey Running Into District 5-A Championship

In the conversation of best ground runners, the Berlin and Tussey Mountain football teams need to be in the conversation. When they meet for the District 5-A Championship, it will feature two of the top rushing teams in Pennsylvania.

Berlin, the defending district champs, average 285 yards rushing per game. The Mountaineers are led by sophomore Braden Fochtman, who has run for 1922 yards this season and accounted for over 2300 all-purpose yards.

Tussey Mountain's ground attack ranks 8th in the state. The Titans are averaging 317 yards rushing per game. Darrin Sipes and Daniel Taylor have both gone over 1,000 yards this season.

Berlin and Tussey Mountain will play at Bedford High School on Friday at 7 p.m.
