Spence continues incredible Steelers story

Updated: Saturday, August 9 2014, 02:40 AM EDT

LATROBE -- Sean Spence has not played an NFL game in three years. On Saturday, that will change.

In 2011, Spence tore his ACL, LCL, and dislocated his knee in a preseason game against Carolina. He was given a minimal chance by doctors to play football again.

This summer, Spence has been a full participant in training camp practices. He has taken most of his repetitions as a second team inside linebacker, even moving up to the first team in the absence of an injured Ryan Shazier.

On Saturday, Spence will reach another milestone when he plays his first NFL game since 2011 against the New York Giants.
