UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A $2 million renovation of Penn State's football facility was approved by Penn State University trustees.

Head coach James Franklin asked for wholesale upgrades to the facilities to compete with the nation's top tier programs two months ago.

Franklin said the program needs to improve their branding, facilities and technology.

He also talked about touch-screens that could replace wall photographs so players could instantly watch game highlights.

The improvements will include new lighting, carpeting, furniture, wall graphics and finishes.
