UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania State University and two top-ranking officials are to be named in a lawsuit filed on behalf a coach who claims he was wrongfully terminated, according to the coach's attorney.

Attorney Alvin de Levie, who is representing Penn State's former fencing coach Emmanuil Kaidanov, said Wednesday he will file a wrongful termination lawsuit against the school Thursday in a federal court in Philadelphia.

Penn State fired the world-renowned coach last summer for an alleged confrontation with an administrative assistant who reported drug use by one of his fencers.

Those allegations against the fencer were found to be false, De Levie said.

De Levie said Kaidanov denies the allegations made by the school and said he won't go down without a fight.

The lawsuit will name Penn State University, Athletic Director David Joyner and athletics integrity officer Julie Del Giorno, De Levie said.

Kaidanov coached at the school for 31 years, and won 12 national championships.

De Levie said they will be seeking to have Kaidanov reinstated to his coaching position, for punitive damages and for back pay.
