Pitt Spring Football: Voytik takes charge at QB

Updated: Wednesday, April 2 2014, 08:30 PM EDT

PITTSBURGH -- This Spring isn't Chad Voytik's first run as Pitt's top option at quarterback, but it is his first time as the Panthers starter.

Voytik played most of December's Little Caesars Pizza Bowl for an injured Tom Savage, leading Pitt to a 30-27 win. Voytik, now a sophomore, takes the reigns as the Panthers starting signal caller and is still getting adjusted to an expanded playbook.

It helps Voytik has a bevy of the ACC's top offensive weapons. Running backs Isaac Bennett and James Connor each rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2013 and wide receiver Tyler Boyd was a freshman All-American and broke Larry Fitzgerald's freshman receiving records at Pitt.

Pat Welter introduces you to Voytik, and tells you how he is adjusting to life being the Panthers starting quarterback.
