Erin Calandra

Reporter

Erin is a local journalist covering local news! She was born and raised in State College. She graduated from Penn State with a degree in broadcast journalism, but didn’t stick around Happy Valley for very long. She started her career in Bakersfield, Calif., as a producer for a CBS affiliate. She quickly moved across town to the ABC affiliate for her first on-air gig as both a producer and reporter.

You can take the girl out of Pennsylvania, but you can’t take Pennsylvania out of the girl! After living the California dream, Erin missed the beautiful seasons, her family and friends back East, so she packed her bags and headed home to work as a reporter for the local CBS affiliate. Most recently, Erin has worked as a video producer for Penn State Outreach and as an adjunct instructor for broadcast journalism courses at Penn State.

Erin is absolutely thrilled to join the WJAC news team based out of State College, where she will be covering stories about her community that truly matter to her.

When not at work, Erin spends her time with her husband, daughter and Oscar the cat. She enjoys cooking and baking, traveling, beach bumming, camping, watching the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians and of course Penn State football! Go BROWNS!
