SNYDER TOWNSHIP, Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett announced Tuesday that a Blair County company is expanding and planning to add dozens of new jobs at its facility.

In a news release, Corbett said Core Label, LLC, will expand its current facility in Snyder Township and add at least 43 new jobs.

Core Label manufactures beverage labels, supplying Fortune 100 companies and several national and regional customers. The company plans to invest more than $1.56 million on the expansion.

"Core Label's expansion continues the momentum building in the Pennsylvania economy as businesses continue to grow and more Pennsylvanians are back at work," Corbett said.

The project was coordinated by the Governors Action Team, who works directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania and with the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation.

"It is refreshing to work with a county and state that are in such unison when it comes to job-supported business development," said Don Mader, president and chief executive officer of Core Label.

The company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including an $86,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $86,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $40,000 Guaranteed Free Training grant to be used to train its new workforce, the release said.

Assistance also included a $700,000 low-interest loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund to be repaid in 10 years.

This is the fifth jobs announcement in Blair County this year with a projection of 140 additional jobs in the county, the release said.

Officials with ABCD Corp. said the expansion project was welcome news for their continued work on expanding business investment along the Interstate 99 corridor.
