ALTOONA, Pa. -- Two men were arrested by authorities in Blair County for allegedly transporting heroin into the Altoona area from Maryland, police said.

Altoona police said Devon Rochester, of Altoona, and David Robenolt, of Tyrone, were arrested Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop on Interstate 99.

Police said officers with the Blair County Drug Task Force received information that Rochester was coming to the Altoona area from Baltimore with heroin to sell. Officers obtained a search warrant for Rochesters vehicle and searched it upon his return to Altoona.

Police found Rochester with 10 grams of raw heroin packaged in capsules, investigators said. Rochester indicated to police he was going to sell the drugs to help pay bills because he was unemployed, and admitted to making a similar trip previously for the same reason.

Police said the estimated value of the heroin was $5,000. Robenolt was in Rochesters vehicle and both were arrested following the search at the traffic stop.

Both men were arraigned and charged with criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin, police said.

The bust was funded through Operation Our Town, police said. Agencies involved in the investigation included the office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, Altoona police, the Blair County District Attorneys Office and the Logan Township Police Department.
