U.S. Attorney releases statement on CTC raid

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. Federal investigators were inside Concurrent Technologies Corporation, a Johnstown area technology firm, Tuesday morning, keeping most employees away as agents worked inside.

U.S. Attorney David Hickton in Pittsburgh issued a brief statement to the media Tuesday afternoon.  It said special agents from the Defense Criminal Investigative Services, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, and Air Force Office of Special Investigations executed a search warrant.

Hickton said two offices of CTC were raided, one at 100 CTC Drive and the other at 128 Industrial Park.  All he would say is it is part of an ongoing federal investigation.

CTC spokeswoman Mary Bevan said she couldnt elaborate on why they were there.

We dont know the nature of their visit, Bevan said.

Bevan said in a late afternoon statement that investigators were still at the companys Environmental Technology Facility but had left the Systems Technology Facility.

She said employees will be notified when both facilities are open.

The company, also known at CTC, was first known as Metalwork Technology Inc. and was formed in 1987, according to the companys website. In 1992 the company changed its name to Concurrent Technologies Corporation and is an independent, nonprofit, applied research and development professional services organization providing management and technology-based solutions to a wide range of clients representing state and federal government as well as the private sector, the website said.

CTC has offices through the United States and Europe and has been awarded millions of dollars in government contracts in the past decades, according to previous 6 News reports. Stay with 6 News and www.wjactv.com for more on this developing story.
