Police continue search for missing girl and kidnapping suspect

By Melanie Gillespie

Police across two states are looking for a Johnstown woman whos accused of kidnapping a young girl.

Kayada Serenitee Martin, 3, has not been back in the arms of her mother and grandmother since before Christmas.

Late last week, Johnstown Police filed charges against Belinda Hancock.
She's facing kidnapping and interference with child custody charges.

Hancock is described as a close family friend and Godmother of Kayada.
Her mother and grandmother told police that the girl spent time over the holidays with Hancock at her house on Wood Street in Johnstown, but on Christmas Day, Kayada never came home.

On January 14th, she was entered as a missing child through the 9-1-1 center.

Through calls and text messages, her family demanded Hancock to bring her back, before realizing she picked up from her Johnstown home and moved her family to Washignton, D.C. Police said she took the baby with her.

It has now been more than a month since Kayada was home with her family and legal guardian.

The woman accused of taking her is now facing two felonies with a warrant out for her arrest.

If you know where Hancock may be, call police.
Detectives filed an extradition to bring Hancock back to Cambria County.
