JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- One Cambria County group is hoping to team up with surrounding areas to help the youth stay away from drugs and alcohol while ensuring they are on the path to success.
"Our focus is the kids," Cambria County Prevention Coalition member Marlene Singer said. "We need to look at families, schools and give everyone the resources they need to help the kids."

"[We want to] Find avenues [that are] present in the community [and] to get to know the folks that are here," Moxham Lutheran Church Pastor Bob Wagner said.
The Cambria County Prevention Coalition is teaming up with Penn State to go through a process called Communities that Care.
"They pull a lot of communities leaders together, business people and schools," Singer said. "[To] Talk about the issues they are favoring and see how we can pull people together as a group and address them."
Using data from the PA Youth Survey that asks kids about drugs and alcohol officials want to find out what they are up to.
"It gives us a lot of info about what the kids are doing," Singer said. "Middle school, high school and how vulnerable they are so we are spreading the information and showing it to small groups throughout the county."
In future months the Cambria County Prevention Coalition Group will reach out to communities, traveling to different areas to speak to organizations to try and get them involved.
