CENTRE COUNTY, Pa.-- As Penn State students are packing up to head home for the holidays, their dorm rooms are becoming a target for crime. 6 News is learning campus police are investigating an incident at Geary Hall that happened in the early morning hours Friday.

As students are packing up and moving out, criminals are trying to move in. University Police are investigating a trespassing and burglary at Geary Hall. According to investigators, they have confronted and identified the suspect but are not releasing a name or details yet. 6 News spoke with a University freshmen freshman and she tells our news crews she is considering bringing home her valuables and electronics for the holiday break.

"It is actually very scary to think about that because I live here right in this hall and it makes me think, it hits very close to home that someone could have just went into my room if I left it unlocked," Kristin Hedgeland said.

University police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of a similar crime during the fall to come forward and contact them.
