BELLEFONTE, Pa. A Centre County man facing more than 1,200 child sex abuse-related charges moved another step closer to having his case head to trial.

Eric Crader, 33, of Pleasant Gap, waived his formal arraignment in Centre County court Wednesday. Crader will head to trial on 1,278 charges including rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and sexual assault and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old.

Crader is accused of sexually abusing two young girls over several years, dating back to 2011. The alleged abuse was discovered after one of the girls told a school counselor about what allegedly happened to her following she saw a presentation about inappropriate touching.

Crader was arrested on the charges in late February and remains in the Centre County Correctional Facility. A trial date has not yet been set.
