Attempted robbery reported outside Clearfield County store

Masked man grabbed employee who was leaving store

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County, were investigating an attempted robbery in the parking lot of a Family Dollar store.

Police said the attempted robbery happened as an employee was leaving the South Second Street store around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

A man wearing a green bandana across his face approached a store employee from behind, grabbed him and demanded money, police said. The employee told the man he didnt have any money.

Police said a second employee, who was also leaving the store, saw the incident and went to help the employee who was being held by the masked man. At that time, the man ran from the parking lot.

Police had few details to describe the attempted robber, stating he was approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall with a slender build, wearing a white T-shirt, jean and a camouflage style ball cap.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to contact Lawrence Township police.
